ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
Have you ever really listened to the rain on a hike?
The soft patter against your jacket. The steady drip from moss-covered branches. The rush of a waterfall somewhere ahead.
This December, we're heading into the Columbia River Gorge for a different kind of outdoor adventure. One where the goal isn't to cover miles or reach the summit, but to slow down and notice everything along the way.
We'll wander the trail, taking time for quiet reflection and sensory exploration. Think towering trees, cascading waterfalls, lush green moss, and the little details we so often miss when we're rushing toward the destination.
After our hike, we'll settle into a cozy, sheltered space for a 45-minute sound bath with Andrea Kintzley of Soul Space Wellness. Warm blankets, soothing sounds, and a hot drink in hand. A little time to rest and tune into your senses.
Your adventure includes:
A guided 5-mile sensory hike with opportunities for quiet reflection
Mindfulness and sensory exploration along the trail
A 45-minute restorative sound bath with Andrea
Cozy blankets, props, and warm beverages
A little something to snack on along the way
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
-
We want you to have the information you need to choose your own adventure. Here's what to expect:
Distance: Approximately 5 miles round trip
Elevation: Approximately 1,047 feet of gain, including the descent to the lower falls
Terrain: Forested trails with uneven, rocky, and potentially muddy or slippery sections. Expect wet conditions and some steeper terrain near the falls.
Pace: Slow and steady, with frequent pauses to take in our surroundings.
Time moving: Approximately 2–3 hours of hiking, plus time for sensory exploration and quiet reflection.
Experience needed: Some hiking experience and the ability to comfortably navigate uneven terrain, moderate elevation changes, and wet conditions.
This isn't a hike about speed or reaching a destination. We'll move mindfully through the forest, with guided sensory invitations, stretches of walking in silence, and opportunities to take in the sights, sounds, and textures of the season.
No previous meditation or sound bath experience is needed. Just an openness to slowing down and experiencing the outdoors a little differently.
